Calamus-Wheatland CSD Bond
The Projects
Calamus-Wheatland CSD is asking the community to consider a general obligation bond of up to to $7.5 million on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. If approved by at least 60% of voters, the district would move forward with a series of improvements at the elementary school and high school.
Among the planned improvements at the elementary school with an estimated cost of $459,000 to $595,000:

Improvements to mechanical systems

New kitchen equipment

Renovation of the commons area
The planned improvements at the high school would cost between $1 million to $1.3 million. This includes:

Creation of a secure entry with a new canopy

Upgrades to the mechanical systems

Replacement of windows, flooring, and fixtures

Art Room renovations

Fine Arts improvements to the stage area

Audio enhancements in the gymnasium
A new addition with a connection corridor at the high school at an estimated cost of $3.87 million to $4.36 million would provide the district with:

A new ag classroom

A new Career and Tech Lab

A new classroom

Outdoor workspace

The conversion of some existing rooms
Additional contingency costs of up to $1.56 million are included in the architect’s project estimate.
